Policy Violations
What happens when marketplace rules are broken, including warnings, account restrictions, and how to appeal a decision.
Overview
Policy Violations explain what happens when marketplace rules are broken. BrickHatch uses enforcement actions to protect buyers, sellers, and the overall marketplace experience. Actions are applied based on severity, repetition, and impact. These can include warnings, store restrictions, or full account disabling. You can review platform policies via Support > Policies & Guidelines
Enforcement Actions
When a policy violation occurs, one or more of the following actions may be applied.
Store Suspension
A store suspension removes a store from the marketplace while keeping the user account active.
- No new orders - The store cannot receive new purchases
- Hidden from marketplace - The store will not appear in search or listings
- Existing orders remain active - Past orders can still be managed and completed
This is used when the store violates marketplace rules but the user account is still allowed to use BrickHatch.
Account Restrictions
Account restrictions limit what actions you can take on the platform without fully disabling your account.
- Cannot create a store - You cannot set up a new store or list items for sale
- Cannot place orders - You cannot purchase items from other sellers
- Limited usage - User can still access account settings and view existing data
This is typically used for behavior that impacts marketplace trust but does not require full removal.
Account Disablement
Account disablement is the most severe enforcement action.
- Login disabled - You cannot access your account or any of its features
- Full access removed - All platform functionality is blocked
- Marketplace removal - Your account is fully deactivated and removed from the marketplace
This is reserved for serious or repeated violations of marketplace rules.
Warnings and Escalation
Not all violations result in immediate action.
- Warnings - Minor issues may result in a warning before restrictions are applied
- Escalation - Repeated violations can lead to stronger enforcement actions
- Review process - Each case is evaluated based on severity and history
Appealing a Decision
If you believe an enforcement action was applied incorrectly, you can request a review.
-
Create a support ticket - Use the in-app support system to submit an appeal
-
Disabled accounts - If your account has been fully disabled, you must contact support directly. Please contact our support team at [email protected]
Appeals are reviewed based on context, account history, and any supporting information provided. Final decisions may be upheld, modified, or reversed depending on the outcome of the review.
