Shipping & Handling controls how your store delivers orders, including shipping time, international availability, and how shipping costs are calculated. New stores use shipping & handling invoicing by default. With invoicing enabled, customers pay for their items at checkout, choose a shipping method without a shipping price, and pay the shipping cost later after you send an invoice.

You can manage all shipping settings via Store Settings > Shipping & Handling

Shipping & handling invoicing lets you calculate the exact shipping amount after an order is placed. This is useful when shipping cost depends on package size, final packed weight, insurance, or carrier pricing that is easier to confirm after you review the order.

• Enabled - Customers pay for items first. Shipping is shown as a separate amount after you send a shipping invoice from the order details page.
• Disabled - Customers pay for items and shipping together at checkout using your fixed shipping rates.

When invoicing is enabled, it replaces the fixed shipping rate table for regular shipping methods. Your shipping methods still appear at checkout, but they do not show a price until you invoice the customer.

• 1. Customer places the order - The customer pays for the items and selects a shipping method with no shipping price attached.
• 2. Store receives the order - The order appears as Pending Invoice until you enter the shipping and handling amount.
• 3. Store sends the invoice - Open the order details page, calculate shipping and handling, then select Send Invoice.
• 4. Customer pays or cancels - The customer can see the invoice in their order details and can either pay the shipping amount or cancel the order.
• 5. Store fulfills the order - After the invoice is paid, the order becomes Confirmed and can be marked as Processing and then Shipped.

Free shipping and flat rate shipping do not create a separate invoice. If one of those options applies at checkout, the order is confirmed immediately after the customer pays.

Handling time is how many business days it typically takes to ship an order after it is placed. This helps buyers understand when their order will leave your store.

• Handling Time - Estimated processing time before an order is shipped (example: 2-3 business days)

This setting controls whether your store accepts orders outside your domestic region.

• International Shipping - Enables or disables shipping to international customers

If disabled, only domestic buyers will be able to place orders.

This section defines store-wide shipping options that can confirm an order immediately, even when shipping & handling invoicing is enabled.

Flat rate shipping applies one fixed shipping cost to every order.

• Flat Rate Shipping - Overrides all other shipping rates and applies a single fixed cost per order
• Flat Rate Amount - The fixed shipping price charged to every order (e.g. $0.00 for free shipping)

You can offer free shipping once an order reaches a minimum value.

• Free Shipping Threshold - Orders at or above this value qualify for free shipping
• Minimum Order Amount - Cart total required to unlock free shipping

If a customer qualifies for free shipping, they will not receive a shipping invoice for that order.

Shipping methods define the options customers can choose at checkout. This section starts empty until you create your first method.

To create a method click Create Shipping Method:

A shipping method defines how shipping is shown at checkout and where it applies.

• Name - The label shown to customers for this shipping option
• Enabled - Turns the shipping method on or off
• Description - Optional details shown to customers below the shipping method name at checkout
• Location - Defines whether it applies to domestic or international orders
• Pricing Type - Determines how shipping is calculated when shipping & handling invoicing is disabled

If you leave the description blank, BrickHatch shows a default explanation based on how the shipping method is priced.

When shipping & handling invoicing is disabled, each shipping method includes a rate table that controls pricing rules.

You can add rates using Add Rate, which inserts a new row into the table.

• From / To (Price or Weight) - Defines the range the rate applies to
• Shipping Cost - Cost charged for orders in that range

Example:

• 0 to 1 lb → $10.00
• 1 to 5 lb → $20.00

When shipping & handling invoicing is enabled, shipping methods do not need rate tables. You will enter the final shipping and handling cost after the order is placed.

Once a shipping method is created, it appears in the main Shipping Methods table on the Shipping & Handling settings page.

From this table, you can:

• Edit Shipping Method - Update name, location, pricing type, or rates
• Delete Shipping Method - Permanently remove the method from your store

These actions allow you to keep your shipping options up to date without needing to recreate them.
